Charles Uzzell-Edwards is an english graffiti artist known by the moniker “Pure Evil” and is a stablemate of Banksy. Pure Evil is an acerbic artist, haunted by the dark face of the human being and the contemporary world.He is also the son of Welsh painter John Uzzell Edwards.In 1990 Pure Evil left London behind and went to live in California where he spent 10 years ingesting weapons grade psychedelics , thinking about stuff , making electronic music and printing t-shirts . Inspired by skateboard culture and the west coast character graffiti of Twist he returned to London and picked up a spraycan and started painting weird fanged vampire bunnies everywhere.He debuted his first Pure Evil Solo Show and from the success of that, opened his eponymous Pure Evil Gallery in Dickensian old shop and basement in the East End of London in 2007.As an artist in the past 5 years Pure Evil has exhibited worldwide in China, Russia, Mogolia, Brazil, USA and all over Europe. He lives in London where he produces a monthly radio show and regularly gives workshop and participates in lecture about Street Art. In last January he had embarked on 365 Street Art, promising himself he would paint or stencil or paste something up in public every day for a year, wherever he was, whatever the circumstances.
